Akala ko ba original Pinoy superhero 'tong si Captain Barbell eh bakit parang second- rate trying hard copycat lang sya ni Superman? May DVD box set ata ang mga producers ng show kaya din na sila nahirapang mag-conceptualized at inisip na lang nilang i-pattern sa paborito kong palabas – Smallville! Hindi makatwirang Mars Ravelo's Captain Barbell ang pamagat nito dahil di naman nila sinunod yung orihinal na kwento nito sa komiks kung saan nakapulot si Teng ng walang kakwenta-kwentang lumang barbell na sa sandaling malinis ay may lumabas na genie, este, nakaroon sya ng alter-ego!
MAHIYA NAMAN KAYO SA FANS NG SMALLVILLE!
Nabagsakan ng "meteor" yung sinasakyang kotse ng parents ni Lana sa Smallville. Sa Captain Barbell, nabagsakan din yung karakter ni Pinky Amador na nanay naman ni Lea.
Gustong-gustong magkaanak nina Martha at Jonathan Kent pero di sila mabiyayaan. Out of nowhere, nakita nila ang batang si Clark na mula sa isang bumagsak na spaceship. Sa CB, gusting mag-ampon ni Gloria Sevilla dahil may sarili ng pamilya yung anak nilang si Ricky Davao. Sa daan, nakita nila ni Dante Rivero ang isang spaceship na may lamang bata at pinangalanan syang Teng.
Naging mutant ang nagka-contact sa nakaraang "meteor shower" sa Smallville. Sila yung nakaka-engkwentro ni Clark linggo-linggo. Mutants din ang kinalabasan ng nadaan ng "delubyo" sa Marravelos tulad ni Bubog. Sila yung makakaharap ni Captain Barbell araw-araw.
Kaibigan ni Clark si Chloe na merong gusto sa kanya. Ka-berks nila si Pete, isang negro. Kaibigan ni Teng si Kit (Camille Prats) na magkakaroon din ng gusto kay Teng. Barkada nila si Bobby, isang obese.
Na-in love si Clark kay Lana na girlfriend ni Whitney at ilang beses nyang nakabangga sa school. "It's you again!" ang dialogue ni Whitney. Na-in love si Teng kay Lea na meron ng boyfriend, si Jared (Jeremy Marquez) na lagi nyang nababangga sa school. "Ikaw na naman?" ang lagi nitong linya.
Nabangga ni Lex si Clark sa tulay pero si Clark pa ang sumagip sa nadisgrasyang si Lex. Naging kaibigan nya ang anak ng isang business tycoon, si Lionel Luthor. Nabundol ni Levi (Patrick Garcia) si Teng na nakabisikleta pero si Teng pa mismo ang sumagip dito. Anak sya ni Viel (Richard Gomez) na isa ring business tycoon. Parehong "mang-aagaw" ng lupain sina Lionel at Viel at mahilig sa chess!
Naghihinala ang mag-amang Luthor sa kakayahan ni Clark. Maghihinala pa lang ang mag-ama ka Teng sa mga susunod na episodes.
Favorite hang-out ni Clark ang barn dahil dito sya nakakapag-muni muni. Sa barn din ang bagsak ni Teng dahil ditto sya pinatira ni JackieLou Blanco.
Binugbog si Clark ni Whitney dahil sa pagiging close nito kay Lana. Iniwan syang nakasabit na parang scare crow sa palayan. Binugbog din si Teng ni Jared dahil sa selos. Iniwan sya sa isang basurahan.
Namatay si Jonathan habang kapiling ni Clark si Lana. Pinili ni Teng na pumunta sa paty ni Lea kahit binilinan syang samahan ang "ama" nya. Namatay ang karakter ni Dante Rivero.
Nagbaklas ng pinto ng kotse, nagbuhat ng traktora at torso, nagbaon ng malaking kahoy sa lupa ng walang kahira-hirap. Ginawa ni Clark. Ginaya rin sa mga eksena ni Teng.
Napaghahalata tuloy na super fans ns Smallville ang mga walang originaliting writers at directors ng bagong telefantasya ng Syete!
Maganda naman ang mga special effects at pagkaka-execute ng mga eksena tsaka high-definition yung kamerang ginamit kaya parang pelikula ang"feel" nito sa telebisyon pero hindi maikakailang kopya pa rin ang kwento nito! Pinoy na pinoy naman daw pero ibinibida pa nilang gawa sa Amerika ang costume nito na patterned rin naman sa Batman armour suit!
Unfair naman ata sa mga pobreng manonood ng Captain Barbell na isiping maganda ang istorya nito dahil hindi naman sa Smallville napupunta ang credit para rito!
